Christen Porpora FNP

Christen is a lifelong member of the local community, born in Glens Falls and a graduate of Queensbury High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Cortland, a master’s degree in teaching from SUNY Plattsburgh, and later her Master of Science in Nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. She completed advanced clinical training in pediatrics and family medicine, with a focus on well-child care, developmental screenings, preventive health, and parent education. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Christen worked as a registered nurse in gastroenterology, cardiac care, and critical care, providing her with a strong clinical foundation.

Prior to her nursing career, Christen spent more than 12 years teaching biology to students in grades 7–12. Her background in education continues to shape her approach to care, helping families feel informed, supported, and confident in making healthcare decisions for their children. Christen is passionate about building lasting relationships with patients and families and is honored to care for children in the community she has always called home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, and two dogs.
